Brock University / Canada Games (Competition Proposal)
Field House and Sport Performance Facility - B+H Architects
The proposal for the 2021 Canada Games sports venue was designed to complement the legacy function of the facility within the Brock University campus. The design was located on a greenfield area which gave a starting point for various volumetric and program relationship studies. The key components were for an Ice Hockey Field house and an adjacent group of gymnasium, health and wellness and sport medicine centres. Accessible and barrier free design was a common thread throughout the design process, and was the driving factor for circulation between program elements. The concept design also featured an integrated landscape plaza that formed the main procession into the venue from its urban street connection and parking.
