The 2015 PanAm and ParaPanAm Games was a massive investment and planning effort for Infrastructure Ontario, which overlooked the development of the Public-Private-Partnership (P3) contracts for the many venues and facilities constructed for the games. As Legacy Facilities, the design and programming had to ensure that they can operate as community institutions long after the completion of the PanAm Games. B+H Architects was involved in the Aquatics Centre work in the role of Planning Design and Compliance (PDC), which involved extensive functional planning for the venue, as well as establishing the volumetric, structural, and M&E requirements for the eventual completion of the project. Final design was implemented by NORR Architects, and was a strong execution of planning work done by the B+H design team.
