Built at the foot of the Paskapoo slopes, one of the oldest cultural archeological sites in the Alberta, is a new mixed-use community the meet the demand of the growing city of Calgary. The Trinity Hills project aims to sensitively expand urban density adjacent to the Trans-Canada highway. With construction being phased around 3 different districts: Gateway, Town Centre and Village, the design team had to accommodate various groups of the future community. Between its new residential mid-rise blocks is formed a new boulevard road for retailers. Large retailers are located behind the main street, with parking lots staggered apart from the primary pedestrian edges, allowing the masterplan to both mitigate the steep slope, as well as separate the urban back-of-house from the vibrant front-of-house promenade.
